NEWSLETTER

January 2007

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year to all our subscribers. It's been a while since the last newsletter, mainly due to a lack of time and premises move last year. This year's resolution is to publish it more regularly. This edition includes details of competition winners, the new competition, details on the new Illusion Magazine, special offers from our shop, what's new on the site and in the shop.

This is the time of year to take stock of your kit, and hunt out the bargains that are around for replacing items such as gazebos which can usually be found discounted at this time of year, with summer still seeming a long way off. Tool boxes for your kit are also to be found in the sales at places like B&Q and Focus.

VALENTINES DAY PICTURE COMPETITION

For our first competition this year we thought we'd have a Valentines Day theme. So what we are looking for is pictures of painting you've done linked to Valentines Day in some way, can be the usual roses, hearts etc or your own interpretation of the day, so long as we can see the connection of course!

We've decided to limit the entries to 5 per person, mainly for space saving. Remember if you have other pictures you want shown, just send them in and we'll put them in one of the galleries on the site.

First prize will be a £10.00 voucher to spend in the shop.

Second prize will be a £5.00 voucher to spend in the shop.

All who receive the news letter are welcome to enter. (If your friends want to enter get them to sign up for the letter!) The competition will be open until the 19th February, all pictures sent in will be displayed on a special page on the web site. Email your picture or pictures (any size or format, we can adjust them to suit the site) to competition@facepaintingdesigns.co.uk

SHOP NEWS

The Snazaroo 18ml standard colours are still at the competitive price of £2.69, with some reduced further to £2.09, the retail price of these will be increasing soon.

The empty 18ml pallettes are proving ever popular so that you can keep 8x18ml paints in one easy to clean/carry container. If you haven't used these before here's a few hints on transferring the paints to the palettes.

Inside the blue base of the 18ml pots is another clear plastic bowl which holds the paint. This is held into the base with a dab of glue. What you do is slide a knife or screwdriver between the two, push it to the centre and twist. This breaks the bond and the clear bowl then fits neatly into the palette.

Some are easy and some are hard depending on how much glue is in that particular pot. Sometimes the blue base cracks when doing this but usually not. It can help to put the paints in the fridge for half an hour as this makes the glue more brittle.

If you order from us and want them loosened, let us know on the order form and we'll do it for you, We're dab hands at it now and rarely break the pots, it only takes us a couple of seconds to do it as we're picking the order.

We are adding a few new designs of the tattoo stencils in the next week or so, Dragons 2 and a "Henna Design" stencil. Keep your eyes open for these because they look quite good.
